Description
This female Common Merganser was keeping a watchful eye out on Rock Creek, which drains the Beartooth Mountains near Redlodge Montana. The Common Merganser is monogamous and tends the nest. After about a 30 day incubation, the young only remain in the nest a day or a little longer, and they find their own food, but don't fly for about two months.
