Description
The Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep is the largest wild sheep found in North America. A large male may reach three hundred pounds. The horns do not drop off, but continue to grow each year; they are often rubbed and frayed on the ends from fighting, or even from rubbing on rocks if they begin to block vision. This one was west of Cody Wyoming, and his behavior indicated the rut was either winding down or about to begin, as the occasional head banging with other rams seemed more recreational than serious.
